ADVERTISING agency Young & Rubicam (Y&R)
bagged the OCBC Bank account and
regained top spot in the ST-R3 Advertising League, a position it had held
for
four months running from May.
The table is compiled by remuneration consultant R3 Asia-Pacific and
ranks
creative agencies based on the net worth of business won and lost from
January
to the end of last month. The latest figures reflect October's activity.
Y&R, which slipped to second spot in September, also clinched
the
high-profile account of Tiger Beer Export.
A delighted Mr Tanuj
Philip, Y&R Singapore's managing director, said: 'We
are on the crest of the biggest and longest streak of new business wins in
our
agency's history.'
Previously unranked DDB was at fourth place after snaring the Starhub
account, but this was diluted by its loss of United Overseas Bank (UOB).
The
hotly contested account was bagged by Saatchi & Saatchi, which is now
in sixth
place.
R3 co-founder Goh Shu
Fen said: 'To our knowledge, there were at least four
agencies going for UOB - Alchemy, BBDO, DDB and Saatchi & Saatchi.'
'Agencies typically compete aggressively for the top three accounts
in each
sector, as most clients want exclusive relationships. That is, if you
handle
DBS, you can't handle OCBC,' Ms Goh said.
Last month's rankings for the media agencies stayed almost the same.
MindShare continued to lead the pack,
followed by ZenithOptimedia and OMD.
Carat moved from sixth to fourth on Keppel Home and Enzer
wins, displacing
Mediaedge:cia,
which fell to seventh.
